Aaron Justus's Fake Virginia Weather Report Is A Little Closer To Real Than Makes Us Totally Comfortable

You've probably already seen this viral video, the funniest fake weather report we've ever seen. At least we think it's fake, since no one else seems to be talking about Godzilla stomping through Virginia.

The video was made by Aaron Justus from WTVR CBS 6 in Richmond, Virginia, who told the Richmond Times-Dispatch in an article published Saturday it was "a 'farewell forecast' when he left the station" about a year ago:

"I always liked to joke around with my co-workers and make ridiculous graphics," said Justus, who now lives and works as a brewer in San Diego. "On slow weather and news days, I would show them during commercial breaks. So I decided to put some of my favorites together as one last farewell forecast."

Justus explained a little more about the video on his blog:

This video was never on air. It was part of an ongoing joke between me and the production crew. During commercial breaks, I would show these graphics (like the volcano and the coyote) to entertain my coworkers. It wasn't until my last day of work (June 26, 2011) that I decided to throw it all together into one ridiculous weathercast. Surprisingly, it only took me three tries to get through the entire weathercast without laughing.

The daily grind of TV finally wore me down, which is why I decided to change careers and enter the brewing industry. I attended the American Brewers Guild and moved to San Diego, CA. I am now a brewer at Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits.
