Officials at the London Olympic velodrome admit the roof leaks but say competition won't be affected.
Droplets of water were reported to have dropped into the reporters' mixed zone at the edge of the track as well as the Chinese team's pen in the centre of the track.
As heavy rain swept across the capital, there were no visible signs of water falling on the track itself and no indication the competition, set to resume at 1500 GMT, would be affected.
A source at the velodrome played down the "minor leaks" and said the incident would not affect the competition.
"There are three minor leaks, one above the centre of the track, one above the mixed zone and one above the officials' table," said the source.
"The competition will continue as scheduled and repairs will be done overnight."
Britain's Ed Clancy and Australian Glenn O'Shea were among the riders aiming for gold in Sunday's only medal event on the track, the men's six-discipline omnium.
The rest of Sunday's programme will comprise the quarter-finals of the men's sprint tournament, and the first and second rounds of the women's sprint.
